Algarve has over 100 beaches and the area around Carvoeiro has some of the most iconic ones. Here is our list of stunning beaches.
Praia do Carvoeiro / Carvoeiro beach
This is the main beach of Carvoeiro, practically located in the very center of the town. This is a family-friendly beach with bathroom and shower facilities and plenty of food and drinks choices around.
Praia de Caneiros / Canieros beach
One of our favorite choices is Praia de Caneiros. A pristine beach, away from the crowds with clear water in all shades of blue. Here you will also find the popular fish restaurant, Rei das praias.
Praia Grande / Grande beach
Further away, on the Ferragudo side, you have praia Grande. A long stretch of sandy beach with beautiful views of Ferragudo castle and the Portimao harbor on the other side. The water here is calmer thanks to Arade river.
Praia do Carvalho / Carvalho beach
This is a beautiful, secret beach close to the Benagil caves. Perfect for those who are looking for a little adventure as you need to enter a tunnel and descend steep stairs to access the beach.
Praia do Vale de Centeanes / Vale de Centeanes beach
Another amazing beach is praia do Vale de Centeanes, a sandy beach with lots of rock formations and a secret cave at the end of the beach. Could get a little crowdy during the summer months.
